Theme Description
The
papers in the ‘architecture + politics’ session deal with
a variety of topics from theoretical associations between architecture
and politics, to the practical connection between the two. Some papers
are concerned with the relationship of governmental politics to architectural
planning and design. Others deal with the political insinuation of architectural
styles, another on political lobbying. The relationship between architect+
critic + historian is dealt with by a number of the speakers. Papers on
the politics of ‘decorum’ and ‘appropriation’
conclude the session.
